Priorities & Issues
Affordable housing, creating a pedestrian-friendly community, and protecting against rising sea levels are a few co-equal priorities to ensure our vibrant city thrives.
Salem is a beacon for creative and innovative community.

Pedestrian-Friendly
Thankfully, Salem had no pedestrian fatalities in 2024 but pedestrian safety remains a core issue. Salem needs solutions that calm traffic to protect pedestrians and cyclists in crosswalks and along dangerous roadways.

Affordable Housing
We want to live in a place where individuals and families can afford adequate housing. The cost housing in Salem has risen dramatically. We need leadership prepared to support efforts making housing accessible.

Climate Resilience
As sea levels continue to rise, it is essential Salem continue planning ways to ensure climate resiliency. We must continue to expand and fulfill the initiatives put forward in Salem and Beverly's Resilient Together platform.

Infrastructure
Our infrastructure has been strained by increased flooding as well as increased traffic congestion. We want a pedestrian-friendly city with accessible pathways and easy access to businesses and parks.
